The Bible says that we need to Be rescued.

The Real Problem

We have a problem we need to be rescued from. Scripture is clear that our problem is sin and the consequences of sin – death. Romans 3:23 says: “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Genesis says, “The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Genesis 6:5). The Bible is equally clear that the just penalty for our sin against God is death, both physical and eternal. “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). “But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8).

The ONly Solution

The Solution is God and his intervention. Without God’s intervention, the situation regarding mankind’s dilemma would be hopeless. But God, who is rich in mercy and love, ordained from eternity past that He Himself would provide the solution by sending His own Son. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Jesus Christ, God the Son, took upon Himself the wrath of God that we rightfully deserved to endure. Isaiah says: “But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his way; but the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him” (Isaiah 53:5-6).

The ONly Way

The Bible declares that the benefits of Jesus Christ’s death can only be received by faith. We are called to place all of our faith in Jesus. “Whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16). To believe in Jesus is not only to believe the truth about Him but to entrust all of yourself to Him, depending upon Him entirely, not only for your salvation but your existence. To believe in Jesus means you turn away from your sin to follow Him in faith and obedience. We would love to talk to you further about the amazing truth of Jesus and the gospel.

Please view the following video to understand how Jesus Christ is the only way and the good news for you.

The Good news is Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection for our sin.

This is the Gospel.

"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures."
- 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

The Gospel

The Gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ.  The good news is: "Christ died for our sins and was raised from the dead."   The good news is all about Christ and centers on the cross and resurrection.  It is the power of God to those who are being saved.  It is a message of how God saves sinners by Christ's death for our sins to reconcile believers to God.  When the gospel is believed, individuals are saved.

For All People

The word gospel sounds religious, something you’d expect moral or church people to talk about.  But it is a surprising word, for it didn’t begin as spiritual jargon.  It simply meant “news.” It’s good news because it is about Jesus Christ.  What’s surprising about this news, however, is that it begins by telling everyone—spiritual and secular, moralist and materialist, religious and non-religious—very bad news about ourselves.  This bad news is about all people.  We will never understand how good the good news is until we’ve heard the bad news.

Ruined by Sin

Although God made everything good (Genesis 1:31), mankind chose to rebel (Genesis 3:6), fell short of God's glory (Rom. 3:23). and now suffers under the curse of death(Romans 5:12; Rom. 6:23).  We are alienated from God because of our sin (Ephesians 4:18), and can not save ourselves (Galatians 2:16; Jeremiah 2:22).  We all stand guilty (Ecclesiastes 7:20) before a holy God who will one day judge all people (Hebrews 9:27).  Our sin brings death and deserves wrath (Colossians 3:6; Ephesians 2:3; Romans 1:18). All people are sinners and in need of rescue from Jesus Christ. Now we can understand the good news.

Rescue by Jesus Christ

God graciously planned to send his Son to rescue people from His wrath (Gal. 4:4-5).  Moved by love and obedience to the Father, the eternal Son became human:  fully God and fully human.  Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross.  His death as a substitute meets God's holy demands and opens the way for sinful people to be forgiven and reconciled to God for all those who believe (Rom. 5;10).  How about you?  Have you been rescued?  Have you turned to Christ and put your faith in his death for your sins?  Have you experienced the transforming work of God's Spirit that brings us from spiritual death to life?   If not, we want to talk with you and share more about this good news of the gospel.

More about the good news...

  • The Gospel is all about Jesus Christ. The good news is Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection for our sin.

  • The Scriptures describe the great significance of his death and resurrection for our sin. It is a historical event of momentous importance. Through faith in Christ and His work on the cross, God's sentence and wrath against the sinner are set aside.

  • Christ was buried and He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. The work of Christ on the cross, the good news, is grounded in Scripture. God reveals through Scripture what He was accomplishing through Christ's death and resurrection for the sinner-you and me.

  • The gospel is the good news that Christ died as a substitute for our sins and was raised according to the Scriptures. The cross is not just history, it is personal. This good news is for you and for me and for all people. It is God's plan to forgive sinners. We must individually respond by faith to the good news. How about you?
