PASTOR
We believe that pastors are charged by God with the responsibility to serve as shepherds under Jesus Christ in His church. Their responsibility, as laid out in scripture, is to shepherd, guide, and protect the flock. As overseers, they are to superintend, guard, and provide directive care for the church. As elders, they are to manage, lead, represent, and govern the church.
Pastor Kurt Seboe began his ministry at NBC in 2013. Previously he pastored in Iowa for 15 years. His passion is expository preaching and the ministry philosophy of “presenting everyone complete in Christ” (Col. 1:28).
Outside the primary responsibilities of studying and preaching, he also spends much of his time in discipleship, training, and equipping, and counseling with families, couples, and individuals. He oversees the ministry teams and leaders. Kurt has been married to Joni since 1993. Kurt and Joni have four adult children. They enjoy spending time with their family and their first granddaughter.
DEACONS
The word deacon means servant. The Greek word is used in a variety of ways in the New Testament, but in two places, it refers explicitly to a formal office held by qualified men (Philippians 1:1; 1 Timothy 3:8-12). These men assist the elder/pastor in leading the church so that the elder/pastor may devote himself "to prayer and the ministry of the Word" (Acts 6:4).
